Reflecting on My IS101 Experience
There’s so much I could say about my experience with IS101. To be honest, I initially chose this class because it was offered on Saturdays, which fit perfectly into my schedule. Looking back now, I’m so glad I made that choice. As I move through my second semester of college, I can confidently say that IS101 has laid a strong foundation for my computer skills and digital literacy-skills that are essential in today’s world. I genuinely loved this course. What I learned here has been truly invaluable.
Having Professor Wu as an instructor was a blessing throughout the semester. His dedication, constant availability to support students, and unwavering commitment to education are nothing short of inspiring. I was also fortunate to be surrounded by incredibly smart and hardworking classmates. That environment pushed me to stay sharp. I’m a naturally competitive person, and I don’t enjoy feeling behind, so trying to stay on top of my game in this class was definitely a challenge. But it was a healthy and motivating kind of competition. I learned a lot just by observing class presentations and participating in Q&A sessions.
Overall, being part of Professor Wu’s IS101 class was a truly rewarding experience. I’m grateful for everything I’ve gained from it.
One of my favorite topics from chapter 6 in LabSim was learning about object formatting 6.6.2. Understanding how to properly format text boxes, images, shapes, and charts can significantly improve the overall quality and professionalism of a presentation. This knowledge is incredibly valuable not just for school, but also for real-life situations like workplace presentations and team meetings.
Being part of this course was truly beneficial for me. Learning how to properly use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is definitely going to impact my future and change the way I present myself in the professional world. Before I wrap up, I’d like to share a few images from the PowerPoint presentation I created this semester. Thank you for reading my blog, and until next time!
